Anna Nemtsova is a reporter based in Moscow. She has been published in Foreign Policy, The Washington Post, The Guardian, and Al Jazeera, among others. She is also a correspondent for Newsweek and The Daily Beast. In 2015, Anna won the International Women’s Media Foundation’s Courage in Journalism Award.

Natalya Estemirova was an internationally renowned Russian journalist who reported regularly on human rights abuses in Chechnya. She was also a board member of the human rights organization Memorial, and was a regular consultant for Human Rights Watch. In 2009, Estemirova was abducted and murdered.
